Zunyi Normal University was approved one of 10 Red Classical Art Education Demonstrationby the Ministry of Education in 2011. The Academy of Fine Arts, as a branch of the Base has presently three undergraduate majors: fine arts of four-year teacher training, visual communicationand environmental design of four-year non-teacher training, and 8 teaching and research rooms on soil painting,printmaking,Chinese painting, calligraphy, visual communication,environmental art design,arttheory and foundation, and practical teaching.Zhiyi building, the existing independent art teaching building, has thetotal construction area of 18,989.72 m2.

Major courses of Visual Communication Design: sketchdesign, colordesign, three components, graphicdesign, photography foundation, national and folk art, calligraphy, seal cutting, computer-aided design foundation, modern design history, layout design, poster design, ceramic design, VI design, packaging design, interior design, landscape environment design, etc.
Employment direction of undergraduatesinVisual Communication Design: advertising, design, graphic design, publishing industry, corporate publicity and planning, packaging design, display design, decoration design and art design training institutions, etc.
Major basic courses of Environmental Design: modeling basis, form basis, creative thinking design, space performance techniques, ergonomics, decorative materials and technology etc.
Major professional courses of Environmental Design: exhibition space design, bedroom space design, principles and norms of interior design, furniture design, commercial space design, garden plants, courtyard landscape design, garden history, landscape architecture design, engineering drawing, principles and norms of landscape design , open space design, model making, park design, urban and rural green space system planning, residential landscape design, engineering technology and cost, waterfront space design, landscape planning and design.
